Amanda Seyfried - Amanda Seyfried Moves On From Josh Hartnett With Another Actor

Amanda Seyfried has moved on from her romance with Josh Hartnett by hooking up with Dexter actor Desmond Harrington.
The Mamma Mia! actress split from the Pearl Harbor hunk in April (12) following a brief romance and now the blonde beauty is dating Harrington, who plays Detective Joseph Quinn in the hit U.S. show.
The pair was spotted hand-in-hand during a day out in New York on Monday (27Aug12).
Harrington is Seyfried's latest actor beau - she has also dated her Mamma Mia! co-star Dominic Cooper and Ryan Phillippe.

A Million Ways to Die in the West 4218952 Film Reviews

After the success of Ted, Seth MacFarlane gives himself his first leading-man role in this hilarious but overlong comedy-Western. The film is clearly a passion project, as it reveals MacFarlane's love of the genre with knowing jokes in between the usual gross-out humour. But it also feels stretched rather thin, and would feel even funnier with a zippier pace and tighter story.

In 1882 Arizona almost anything can kill you. Albert (MacFarlane) is a sheep farmer who has very little respect in his tiny frontier town. His girlfriend Louise (Amanda Seyfried) has just dumped him and taken up with smug Moustachery manager Foy (Neal Patrick Harris). And his best pal Edward (Giovanni Ribisi) has issues of his own, determined to wait until marriage to have sex with his fiancee, the town's most popular prostitute Ruth (Sarah Silverman). Then a stranger rides in: Anna (Charlize Theron) is trapped in a marriage to the local outlaw Clinch (Liam Neeson) and needs a place to hide. And in Albert she finds the kind of nice guy she thought didn't actually exist in the West.

MacFarlane's most clever decision was to surround himself with terrific actors who can effortlessly play both comedy and drama. As a result he just about gets away with a performance that doesn't stretch him at all. Theron is especially good, bringing an offhanded humour to her scenes that grounds the entire film. She may roll her eyes at the bad jokes while laughing openly at the good ones, but she stays firmly in character, which makes her scenes with MacFarlane and Neeson crackle with all kinds of romantic energy.

The rest of the cast adds hilarious asides, including a line-up of amusing big-name cameo surprises and elaborate set-pieces that poke fun at the genre itself (the dual at dawn, the barn-dance, the Indian pow-wow). But the film's main trade is in vulgarity, with a continual stream of comedy centred on excretion, sex and death. Not all of this hits the target, but MacFarlane's average is better than most. So even if he steals several big gags directly from the iconic Blazing Saddles, he's made a movie that's amusing right to the last fart.

Ok, Seth Macfarlane, You've Had Your Fun, Now Where Are We With "Ted 2"? 4218994 News

Seth MacFarlane really wants to be a movie star. And we get it, we really do, but that isn’t enough to justify the existence of A Million Ways to Die in the West. Critics are pegging Macfarlane’s latest as “astonishingly lazy” (TIME Magazine) and “altogether wrongheaded” (Film School Rejects) and its overall 34% score on Rotten Tomatoes means that this one is easily skippable.

Seth Macfarlane
Seth Macfarlane's latest wasn't worth the hype.

The only hope Macfarlane has of redeeming himself as a writer and, to an extent, as a director, is for his other project, Ted 2, to be a stellar success. So where are we with that one?

Watch the trailer for A Million Ways

Well, Ted 2 is yet to begin pre-production and a finished script is yet to be announced. The film’s planned release on June 26 2015 puts the production on a tight schedule so far, but it might just be that Ways to Die has been taking up too much of Macfarlane’s time.

As for what we know about the film – not much. There is no plot outline yet, which leads us to believe that Ted 2 was conceived more as a way to milk the unexpected popularity of the original, rather than an actual way to develop the story. Which is fair enough, since the story of a talking, horny teddy bear doesn’t really call for too much artistic integrity.

Mark Wahlberg will reprise his role as John Bennett, while Mila Kunis will return as his girlfriend Laurie, but only in a cameo appearance. The female lead this time went to Amanda Seyfried, whose casting was announced by Deadline back in February.

Albert is a rather introverted sheep farmer who tries at all costs to avoid confrontation with the occasional gun-toting outlaw who may pass through the small Arizona town in which he lives. His reluctance to engage in any kind of combat has cost him his girlfriend, but on the upside, he's still alive - which is more than can be said for a large percentage of townspeople. There is danger is every turn and Albert is feeling a little low in confidence - that is, until the arrival of the town's feisty new resident Anna. She wants to show him how to aim and fire a loaded pistol and, generally, how to win a fight, which is just as well because one man is on his way over with the intention of dominating the town with his formidable reputation. Unfortunately for Albert, he's Anna's estranged husband and, with Albert having spent so much time with her, it is starting to look like he's finally run out of luck.

'A Million Ways To Die In The West' is the hilarious Western parody set in the late 1800s from director, writer and main star Seth Macfarlane ('Family Guy', 'American Dad', 'Ted'). It's his second live action comedy which he wrote alongside Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild ('Dads ', 'Ted', 'Family Guy') and it will be released in the UK on May 30th 2014.

Happy Anniversary 'Mean Girls' - Here's Our 10 Most Fetch Quotes! 4174894 News

Ten years ago Gretchen Wieners had a dream and that dream was to make ‘fetch’ happen. Now a decade on from Mean Girls we can safely say, yes, Gretchen ‘fetch’ did happen. The movie which gave us Lindsay Lohan at her best and Amanda Seyfried in her film debut has offered us many memorable quotes which have become part of our lexicon. Some you can easily drop into conversation, for others it takes a bit more effort. So in celebration of Mean Girl’s 10th anniversary here’s the 10 Mean Girls quotes we’ve labeled the most ‘fetch’.

Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay Lohan, she'll always be Cady to us

1. “Fetch” - Gretchen Wieners
Fetch was an adjective Gretchen Wieners was trying to make happen. Regina George wasn't a fan telling her to “stop trying to make fetch happen”, but we say no Regina ‘fetch’ has happened, at least for us.

2. “She doesn't even go here!” - Damien
Damien had many memorable lines, but calling out the girl who just wanted to pour her heart out to a crowded gymnasium was one of the best.

More: How Mean Girls could have been a very different movie

3. ”You go Glen Coco!” - Damien
Face it you will probably never be as popular on Valentine’s day as Glenn Coco who got four candy canes! "You go Glen Coco!”, a Valentine’s legend.

4. ”On Wednesdays we wear pink” - Karen
The rule every wannabe plastic must live by, if it’s a Wednesday you must wear pink, even if all you have is an oversized polo shirt.

daniel franzeseDaniel Franzese's Damien had some of the film's best lines

5. ”I can’t help it if i’ve got a heavy flow and a wide set vagina!” - Bethany
Perhaps the best case of TMI ever on film, enough Bethany no more info needed.

6. “If you’re from Africa, why are you white?” - Karen
I don’t think we can put it any better than Gretchen did, come on Karen “you can't just ask people why they're white!”

7. “Ex-boyfriends are off-limits to friends. That’s just, like, the rules of feminism.” - Gretchen Wieners
It might not be in any of Germaine Greer’s texts, but we all no you can’t date your friends ex, even if you are a mean girl, it’s just too far.

8. ”'Made out with a hot dog'? Oh my god! That was one time!” - Amber D’Alessio
Poor Amber, her burn book entry will go down as the most disturbing and also the most memorable.

9. “That’s why her hair is so big. It’s full of secrets.” - Damian
Ever wondered why your hair is so flat and other girls seem to have walked right out of a Loreal commercial? Well thanks to Damien we can take solace in the fact that they might be hiding more than a good volumiser.

10. ”I'm not like a regular mom. I'm a cool mom.” - Mrs George
Based on Mrs George this is something you never want your mum to say, especially if she’s wearing pink velour.

'Mean Girls' 10 Years On: Memes, Memories, And The Cult Of Mean 4174895 News

It's ten years since hit high school comedy Mean Girls was released. Yes, yes: we know it makes you feel old and all that jazz but what's more impressive than the simple passing of 3652.4 days is how a light-hearted look at the politics of high school life has become a phenomenon as popular and relevant now as it always was and will be forever.

'Mean Girls' Turns 10: Celebrating The Most Quotable Movie Ever Made.

To recap, Lindsay Lohan plays Cady Heron, a so-called "home-schooled jungle freak" who has spent her life sheltered from the regiment of mainstream school and its minefield of social rules. Cady is dropped in at the deep end when she catches the eye of the "plastics," a trio of vain and catty girls lead by Regina George (Rachel McAdams), the iron-fisted ruler of the school's in crowd.

More: 'Mean Girls' star Daniel Franzese, AKA Damian, comes out in heartfelt open letter.

Cady is mesmerised by the pink Wednesdays and Burn Book bitching but is torn by her loyalties towards two outcasts, Janice (Lizzy Caplan) and Damian (Daniel Franzese), who convince Cady to bring down the Plastics from the inside. A bitter catfight ensues as Regina pushes back, leading to cruel take-downs and heartfelt confessions as the girls of the school realise they all share the same issues.

Aside from the relentless comedy, the movie's success can be attributed to its uncanny ability to chime with women all over the world who know all too well that "girl fighting is sneaky." Inspired by her own experiences at school, script writer Tina Fey put pen to paper and came up with a new cult. "I revisited high school behaviors of my own - futile, poisonous, bitter behaviors that served no purpose," she explained.

"That thing of someone saying "You're really pretty" and then, when the other person thanks them, saying, "Oh, so you agree? You think you're pretty?" That happened in my school. That was a bear trap," she told the NY Times.

Meanwhile Rosalind Wiseman, who wrote the self-help book, Queen Bees and Wannabes, that Mean Girls is based on, was shocked at how accurately Fey and the cast created the perfect tone: "I didn't know it was going to be a big movie. But the first time I saw Rachel in the rough cut, I could not believe how good she was. My mom was with me, and I remember turning to her and saying, 'I can't believe how perfectly she got every mean girl I've ever worked with,'" she said.

Originally titled Homeschooled, the film and its many quotable catchphrases is immortalised daily in the social halls of Tumblr and Twitter with lines from the film plastered over images from practically any film or TV show with human relationships in it; the best including The Hunger Games and Game of Thrones.

Tumblr, home of the meme, reports that in the last month alone, users have created more than 10,000 posts and 477,000 notes related to the film. And most of the users sharing in the jokes would have been too young to be culturally conscious to appreciate the film the first time round. The film took $121 million on opening in 2004 but could not have anticipated its revival on the internet.

Responding to the practically constant calls for an official Mean Girls sequel (not gonna happen, according to Fey), a sequel based on the movie is confirmed to be in production, with Fey's husband, Jeff Richmond, writing the score. Additonally, two projects based on Wiseman's subsequent books, about mothers and teenage boys, are in development. Sean Anders and John Morris ('We're the Millers") have apparently written a Mean Moms movie, which is due out next year and they're also working on the concept for a boy-centric film.

Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay May Be Having A Tough Time, But Her 'Mean Girls' Role Means She'll Always Have Fans.

Of all the movie's core cast members, Lacey Chabert has been the quietest since her career defining role. McAdams, Lohan, Caplan and Amanda Seyfried have gone their separate ways yet have found considerable success in other Hollywood projects, so much so that they're unlikely to feature in any extension of the original film. Just like Cady notices a new generation of Plastics springing up at the end of the movie, a new wave of stars will help plant their mark on the story when Fey casts her Broadway show and we'll laugh, cry, quote, and try to "make fetch happen" all over again.

Cara Delevingne to star in Tulip Fever and Pan 4167578 News

Cara Delevingne is in talks for 'Tulip Fever' and 'Pan'.

The model is set to take on the role of Henrietta in the forthcoming Justin Chadwick-directed romance and will star opposite Dane DeHaan and Alicia Vikander, reports Deadline.com.

The 21-year-old beauty has also landed a ''small role'' in the latest re-working of J.M. Barrie's children's classic Peter Pan where she will join Garret Hedlund, who has been offered the part of Captain Hook while Hugh Jackman will play the villainous Captain Blackbeard.

Meanwhile, it has been announced that Amanda Seyfried is the latest A-Lister to join the star-studded cast and she will play Mary.

The story looks into the origins of Pan, an orphan who is taken to the magical world of Neverland where he goes into battle against the evil pirates and becomes a hero among the natives.

Delevingne made her movie debut as Princess Sorokina in 2012 romantic drama 'Anna Karenina' and last year she was cast as a party girl in British flick 'Kids in Love', a drama about a group of teenagers who enjoy crazy nights out in London, boozing till the early hours of the morning, and taking drugs.

Still 'Mean Girls'? Tracking Down The Stars of the 2004 Movie 4109707 News

There’s been a whole lot of Mean Girls talk lately. First with news that there was potentially a Mean Girls movie in the works, although co-writer Tina Fey immediately dispelled those rumors. It’s hard not to know where Lindsay Lohan is, or after “Lindsay’s List” was released, who she’s been there with. Lindsay played Cady Heron in the original movie and her career has been patchy since then, to say the least. While Lohan has appeared in a string of movies, including Georgia Rule, I Know Who Killed Me and Labor Pains, she hasn’t been nominated for any acting awards since 2008 and her personal life has been no more successful. Her cameo in 2 Broke Girls has been slammed by an audience member, who claims the troubled starlet couldn't remember any of her lines.   Lindsay has struggled with an array of legal issues and has been in and out of rehab for some years now. Her new self-titled reality show began on Opera’s network OWN on 9th March, only to be overshadowed by the list of her alleged conquests which surfaced soon after. The Lohan Saga continues.

Tina Fey Writing A 'Mean Girls' Musical With Husband: Who Will Star In The Stage Adaptation? 4108599 News

Tina Fey may have disappointed the legion of Mean Girls fans when she shot down the recent rumours of a sequel to the classic 2004 teen comedy as its 10 year anniversary creeps into view. Fey appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon alongside Lindsay Lohan where they talked about the rumours which have been buzzing louder than ever recently.

The 30 Rock star said "At most, it would be like a panel discussion with a plate of hot wings. It's definitely not a movie." When asked if she had written another movie, she replied "No! I wish I had written a movie. No, it's just [...] Mostly we're trying to get a party going."

Fey did throw her fans a bone when she revealed that she and her husband, the composer Jeff Richmond, are in the process of developing a Mean Girls musical adapted for the stage. The project seems to be in its early stages right now but the writer's announcement has sent fans into a whirlwind of speculation regarding the casting of the musical.

Fey Revealed That She And Her Husband, Jeff Richmond, Are Developing A 'Mean Girls' Musical.

The Mean Girls' original cast - Lindsay Lohan, Lacey Chabert, Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried - have all seen their careers greatly advance in the ten years since Mean Girls was released so will be unlikely to take to the stage for a rebirth of their teen dramedy roles. Fey and Richmond probably won't look to the ill-fated TV movie, Mean Girls 2, for casting solutions either. The 2011 film was a decided flop, rehashing its predecessor's original jokes and set-ups to critical scorn.

Lindsay Lohan

Neither Fey nor the Mean Girls cast had a hand in Mean Girls 2 meaning fans have been calling for a second outing of the oft-quoted flick. The musical's details are scarce right now but Fey did say she'd like to reunite the original cast for a tenth anniversary bash.

Speaking to Jimmy Fallon, Mean Girls lead Lindsay Lohan revealed: "I saw Tina and she mentioned doing a reunion. She said she was talking to Lorne [Michaels] about it. She's talking to the big boss." Watch this space!

Calm Down! Tina Fey Crushes 'Mean Girls' Sequel Rumours, But Reveals A Musical Version 4106871 News

Tina Fey has put a stop to all the Mean Girls sequel rumours that have been circulating lately, saying that a follow-up to the oft-quoted 2004 teen hit is out of the question. Fans are largely split between two camps: those who would love to see a sequel with Lindsay Lohan and the original crew, and those who think another film would be laboured, unnecessary and run the risk of damaging the appeal of its predecessor.

Fey and Lohan appeared on Jimmy Fallon's first episode of The Tonight Show last month where they addressed the calls for more Means Girls action. The 30 Rock star said that whilst there was an argument for temporarily reuniting the cast - 19th April will mark the film's 10 year anniversary - there was little chance that any plans would be made for another film.

Rachel McAdams

Fey said: "I said to her [Lohan], 'Oh, I think someone may call us about doing some kind of reunion because next month is the 10th anniversary of the movie.' And so really... if everyone's around we might try to do some kind of like panel discussion, but it's not like another movie. At most, it would be like a panel discussion with a plate of hot wings. It's definitely not a movie."

Amanda Seyfried

A Girl's BFF: The Story of Amanda Seyfried And Her Dog Finn 4085769 News

It’s no secret that actress Amanda Seyfried likes her dog, Finn. The Hollywood starlet is rarely pictured without her pooch, while her Instagram account is practically a shrine to the lovable hound.

amanda seyfried finn dog Amanda is often pictured out and about with her dog, Finn.

To be perfectly honest, we don’t blame her. We have to admit, the Australian Shepherd is more than a little bit adorable and the camera does absolutely freaking love him. He’s also rather talented when it comes to balancing inanimate, and animate, objects on his head, which pretty much makes him the ideal dog for any Instagram fan to own. Who out there isn't desperate for a pet to take hilarious photos of?  Finn even appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman last summer to show off his skill. The well trained pup balanced a hamburger on his head before finally dropping it on the floor and scoffing the meat. Amanda requested a hamburger rather than a cheeseburger, dropping in that Finn is a little ‘lactose intolerant’. He’s also been photographed balancing a duckling on his head, although we hope it didn’t eat that one when he dropped it.

<iframe src="//instagram.com/p/jk_1snydg2/embed/" width="636" height="710" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" allowtransparency="true"></iframe>

Amanda has admitted that she is ‘co-dependent‘ when it comes to Finn, who even has his own Twitter account and nearly 12,000 followers, which is super depressing to those of us who have nowhere near that many (despite posting really witty and entertaining tweets...promise) Maybe a dog to balance objects on would help amass a larger following.

Amanda is definitely the most devoted pet owner in Hollywood, which is quite a title to claim considering her competition. Glee actress Lea Michelle has been known to pose provocatively with her pup, Pearl, while Miley Cyrus often discusses her dogs as well as taking copious photos of them and posting them to her various social media accounts. However, none of these pooches have captured public attention in the way that Finn has, who even has a BuzzFeed dedicated to him, celebrating him as 'America's Hidden Treasure'.

<iframe src="//instagram.com/p/f5evm0ydkM/embed/" width="636" height="710" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" allowtransparency="true"></iframe>

We wonder if Finn has been receiving as much attention as usual over the past few months, considering that Amanda has been busy filming her latest movie A Million Ways to Die in the West? The movie, which is written and directed by Family Guy creator, Seth MacFarlane, also stars Charlize Theron, Neil Patrick Harris and Liam Neeson, and looks like it will be a rip roaring-ride through the American Old West. If Seth’s previous body of work is anything to go by it will be packed with his signature outrageous humour, although the movie isn’t due for release until May so sadly we still have a few months left to wait.  It's also been recently announced that Amanda will take over from Mila Kunis in Ted 2, sounds like she's one busy lady at the moment!  If you ever need anyone to dog sit, Amanda, we're always willing.
