Amanda Bynes Facing Prison For Hit And Run Charges
Amanda Bynes, 26, claims that she and the other motorist "mutually agreed" that no damage had been done, after the low-speed collision. However, investigators subsequently determined that around $800 of damage had been done to the Toyota. State law requires that she should have notified the police of the incident and provided the other driver with insurance details. The case on the April incident was re-opened, as well. She was arrested at around 3am near Robertson and Santa Monica boulevards, after she allegedly hit the rear end of a Sherriff's Department vehicle. She denied any involvement in that incident and later said "I can't help but laugh at all of you writing fake stories about me.I was not in any hit and runs. I don't drink so the Dui is false." She has, however, also been charged with refusing a sobriety test.
Bynes is adamant that she is not guilty in these offences, to the extent that she has called on Barack Obama to sack the police officer who arrested her. She tweeted "Hey BarackObama... I don't drink. Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don't hit and run. The end." We're not sure if Obama has responded but it's more likely that she'll have to go through the regular legal process if she wants to get herself acquitted.
