Alternative Stage Announced For Reading And Leedsby Contributor | 07 August 2007
The line up for this year's Alternative stage at the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds festivals has been announced.
Transgressive records will be taking over the stage at both sites, with the likes of Jeremy Warmsley and Battle scheduled to play.
The record company's ever-burgeoning roster will be well represented, with Noah and the Whales as well as Beans on Toast set to play.
As well as live acts, the stage will host videos and image displays specially produced for the Carling Weekend.
Transgressive's label bosses said in a statement: "Our nights at Reading and Leeds will be a snapshot of music in all its incarnations and forms - every act is different to the next, and attempting to do something unique and special.
"The video footage will see some familiar material aired, and some exclusive imagery [and] videos that aren't quite so commonplace. We're hoping to surprise, and delight."
As well as artists from Transgressive, Blood Red Shoes, Foals, the Young Knives and Lethal Bizzle will all perform.
Comedy comes from Simon Amstell, Ed Byrne and Russell Kane.
Headliners at this year's festival include Razorlight, Kings of Leon, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arcade Fire and Klaxons.
