Allen's Father To Make Documentary About Al-Fayed

LILY ALLEN's actor father KEITH ALLEN is rushing to finish his documentary about Egyptian tycoon MOHAMED AL-FAYED - because he wants to debut the movie at next month's (May08) Cannes Film Festival. The Trainspotting star is making a feature-length documentary about Al-Fayed and the inquest into the deaths of British royal Diana, Princess of Wales, and his son Dodi Fayed, who were both killed in a Paris, France car crash in August 1997. Al-Fayed is convinced the couple was murdered, and, during his testimony at London's High Court in February (08), maintained his belief that they were assassinated by British security services acting on the orders of Prince Philip, the husband of British monarch Queen Elizabeth II. And, although the inquest's jury has yet to make their decision, Allen wants to finish editing his documentary before the Cannes Film Festival begins in France on 14 May (08). The jury retired to make its decision on Wednesday (02Apr08) and is expected to release its verdict later this month (Apr08).
