Allen Inspired By Break-Ups
British singer LILY ALLEN has a novel way of gaining inspiration for her songwriting - she dumps her boyfriends.
The Smile hitmaker has been single since splitting from art dealer Jay Jopling earlier this year (Jan08).
She has previously dated Chemical Brothers DJ Ed Simons - and admits that the break-ups remedied her writer's block and helped her to write her second album It’s Not Me, It’s You.
She tells Britain's Radio Times, "I've actually broken up with boyfriends for inspiration. When I hit a period of not being able to write music, I get up and walk away. It's pretty mean but it’s true."
