All Quiet On The Kristen Front: 'On The Road' Stars Stay Silent
Instead it was down to British stars Sam Riley, Danny Morgan and Tom Sturridge to promote the movie - an adaptation of Jack Kerouac's classic 1957 book of the same name. Hinting that he had expected her to show, Morgan said it was "sad" that Stewart was not with the group, while Riley said he had "no idea" how the actress was doing. Yorkshire-born Riley - the protagonist and narrator of the movie - did admit that he was feeling the pressure ahead of the film's release, saying, "The book is well loved the world over. People have their own feelings about it and how it ought to look and you're bound to disappoint half of them", according to the Press Association. Sturridge - who welcomed a baby daughter with Sienna Miller five weeks ago - refused to comment on his close friend Robert Pattinson, saying, "I don't talk about my friends behind their back".
'On The Road' - produced by Francis Ford Coppola - launched the 2012 Film4 Summer Screen season at Somerset House. It hits cinemas in the UK on October 12, 2012.
