Aliona Vilani - Aliona Vilani Takes Strictly Crown On Third Attempt
Aliona Vilani was full of praise for her dancing partner Harry Judd after the pair took this year's 'Strictly Come Dancing' crown ahead of Chelsee Healey and Jason Donovan. It's Vilani's first win in the competition at the third attempt of trying following her debut in the reality contest in 2009.
On that occasion, she was paired with 'Crimewatch' presenter Rav Wilding and they were unceremoniously booted off in week three. Last year, she was paired with another TV presenter - Matt Baker - and the pair had huge success, winning their way to the final despite losing out at the final hurdle. Thanks to the talents of Mcfly drummer, the 27 year-old Russian-Kazakhstani took the crown this year but handed all the plaudits to her junior partner, admitting she was surprised by his professionalism. Vilani told Bbc News, "He's the most serious young man I've ever met. We didn't have a day off in four months since the day we started."
For his part Judd admitted how nervous he was before the final, telling the UK's Daily Mirror newspaper, "I forgot some moves. The dress run was pretty disastrous. I almost dropped Aliona. And then in the Argentine tango I tripped her up and we had to miss a whole section".
