Alice Cooper's New Band Make Tv Debut

Veteran rock star Alice Cooper gave fans and TV audiences a glimpse of his forthcoming new album 'Welcome 2 My Nightmare' by performing its lead-off single 'I'll Bite Your Face Off' on 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno' on Friday night (09/09/2001).

The premise of his latest album is that of Cooper having a succeeding nightmare to the one conceptualised on his debut solo LP 'Welcome To My Nightmare,' released 36 years ago to a Top 5 US chart placing in 1975. Since then Alice Cooper has gone onto release another 17 studio albums and this is his 19th, not even including a slew of reissues, rarities and live records.

Blabbermouth reports that an energised performance on Jay Leno's show featured his new band including guitarist Orianthi, who last month was announced as replacement for the departing DAMON JOHNSON. At only 26, the axe-wielder already has a glittering CV including sharing stages with Michael Jackson and Carlos Santana as well as opening for Steve Vai. She also has previous recent history with Cooper, accompanying him for his live performance of seminal hit 'School's Out' on the 2010 finale of 'American Idol.'

Earlier this week, infamous guitar builders Gibson reported that Cooper was to take his new band to the Whisky A Go-Go club on Los Angeles' famous Sunset Strip for their debut live show on September 15th. Alongside Orianthi, the group also features previous touring guitarist STEVE HUNTER, the new album's co-writer TOMMY HENRIKSEN, drummer GLEN SOBEL and long-time Cooper collaborator, bassist CHUCK GARRIC.
