Ali Campbell Declared Bankrupt
Four members of the British reggae band - saxophone player Brian Travers, drummer Jimmy Brown, trumpeter Terence Oswald and percussionist Norman Hassan - went bust earlier this month (Oct11) following an investigation over their failed record label, Dep International.
Now it has emerged Campbell, who left the group in 2008, has also been struggling to pay off his debts - he was declared bankrupt at England's Bournemouth County Court in June (11).
The Red Red Wine hitmakers have suggested Campbell's departure was the cause of their money problems.
A post on Ub40's website reads, "The difficulties were a result of our singer leaving. It caused us to lose several million pounds worth of work, creating a black hole."
