Alex Trebek Suffers Heart Attack Jeopardy
A statement from Sony Television Pictures, who produce the show, read "Trebek is in good spirits and is currently under observation and undergoing further testing. He is expected to fully recover and be back at Jeopardy! when production begins taping in July for the new season, the show's 29th." Indeed Trebek has history of heart problems, suffering a heart attack back in 2007 only to return to his much-loved game show within a matter of weeks. Proving his fitness once again, he also pursued a burglar last year despite then being 70 years old, though this caused him to snap his Achilles and wear a cast for six weeks.
There've been no plans at all for Trebek to finish his run on 'Jeopardy!', which he began almost three decades ago in 1984, and he only recently had his contract extended until 2014. Trebek was also once host of the popular 1960s music program 'Music Hop', in Canada. Expected to make another recovery from this current episode, we wonder if Trebek will ever eventually get the chance to host his dream show - Hollywood's Celebrity Squares - before heading into retirement.
