Baseball star Alex Rodriguez is to make his acting debut.
The sportsman - who has been linked to Hollywood leading ladies Cameron Diaz, Kate Hudson and Madonna - has signed up to star in 'Friends with Benefits' alongside Diaz's ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, Variety reports.
Also starring in the film - which begins shooting in New York at the end of July - is Mila Kunis.
It is not believed Alex will be playing himself in the movie, marking his debut in the acting world.
Other stars believed to have signed up for the film include Woody Harrelson, Jenna Elfman, Emma Stone and Patricia Clarkson.
Will Cluck will direct the comedy - created b scriptwriters David Newman and Keith Merryman - which will tell the tale of two friends, Timberlake and Kunis, who leave bad relationships only to find themselves in a "no-strings-attached" fling with each other.
