ALEX LAMBERT, the 20-year-old singer who made it through to the semi-finals on the last series of American Idol, has told fans on Twitter that he has become homeless since being eliminated from the show, reports the New York Daily News. Lambert, who has struggled to find a record deal, told his followers that he was about to "freak out" if he didn't tell the truth about his current situation.
Speaking on his Twitter page, he said, "didn't want to bring my person [sic] life to my fans but I'm about to freak out if I don't tell yall the truth", before shocking his fans by claiming, "Ever since IICD ended I've been kinda homless! [sic] Sleepin on the street and behind buildings. I have a choice to stay and persue [sic] my career or go back to texas and not do music!" However, as Lambert's comments quickly began to spread, 19 Entertainment, the company who the singer has a development deal with, issued a statement denying his homelessness. A spokesperson said, "He's not homeless. I don't know where that came from. He's on a retainer, and he's getting money every month. He's working on demos. He's with writers, he's working on music".
Lambert took to his Twitter page once in an attempt to clarify his comments, saying, "I just wanted the people that loved me to know what was really goin on. I'm real! And I don't lie! and I would never lie to yall!".
