Alesha Dixon To Battle Jessie J On Rival Talent Shows
The Bbc picked up the 'The Voice' from the U.S. last year, and at a cost of $33 million, the show is the channel's big-budget response to Itv's X Factor and Britain's Got Talent. Jessie J joins Tom Jones, Will.I.AM and The Script frontman Danny O'Donoghue on the judging panel, which compares to Alesha Dixon, Simon Cowell, David Walliams and Amanda Holden on Itv's show. With bosses for both programmes keeping cards close to their chest, exact scheduling is yet to be announced, but sources tell the UK's Sun newspaper that both shows could go head-to-head every Saturday evening. That would certainly infuriate fans, who already have to choose between Cowell's X Factor and the Bbc's Strictly Come Dancing. One angry source said, "This is typical of Itv, parking their tanks on our lawn just as we launch a major new format. They are smarting because they didn't get the show although they bid £10million more than us".
The existing rivalry between the channels intensified when Simon Cowell poached Alesha Dixon from the Bbc's reality dancing show - of which she worked as a judge after winning the competition.| Comment on this article |
