Alec Baldwin Slammed By The New York Press Club
The New York Press Club has condemned Alec Baldwin's alleged assault of a photographer.
The non-profit organisation of working journalists and media professionals have slammed the '30 Rock' star after the paparazzo, Marcus Santos - who works for the New York Daily News - filed a complaint against the 54-year-old star following the altercation.
The New York Press Club released a statement saying Alec's actions ''should not be tolerated'' and claim he is a public figure and that his activities are ''legitimate subjects of media interest''.
Marcus alleges he was punched by the actor during the incident, but Alec's publicist claims the photographer was the aggressor and that it was the paparazzo who assaulted him with a camera.
A New York Police Department spokesman says police are investigating the incident but no charges have been filed.
Alec made an appearance on 'The Late' show last night (20.06.12) and played down the incident by dropping his trousers in front of the audience and host David Letterman after announcing he had lost weight.
He took to the stage to Pat Benatar's 'Hit Me With Your Best Shot'.
