Alec Baldwin - Alec Baldwin Running For New York Mayor In 2013?
Alec Baldwin, the American actor and '30 Rock' star, is considering a run to become mayor of New York City. Alec Baldwin, who has often spoken of his political aspirations, is said to be mulling over a run now Anthony Weiner appears to be out of the race.
A close friend of the actor told 'The Daily' that Weiner's current 'Twitter scandal' has shaken up the field of candidates, saying, "Alec said, 'Hey, maybe this changes the race. The dynamics have shifted'. The Democrats need a high-profile candidate, and Alec can fill that bill". Baldwin, a die-hard Democrat from Long Island, has already confirmed that 2012 will be his final year on the hit comedy '30 Rock', which would free him for a 2013 mayoral campaign. Often dubbed 'the second hardest job in America', Michael Bloomberg is the current mayor of the city but he is not likely to run again in 2013. During an interview with Cnn's Eliot Spitzer in January, Baldwin admitted he was "very interested" in running for office, saying, "I do believe that people want to believe that someone who deeply cares about the middle class.would like to seek public office. We've had men, who are, regardless of their background.who are Ivy League.groomed.running this country since 1988. We've had 22 years of Yale and Harvard running this country right now, and the problems aren't getting solved".
Alec Baldwin has a number of movies scheduled for release within the next year, most notably, the comedy-drama 'Hick' with Blake Lively and the musical 'Rock of Ages' with Tom Cruise and RUSSELL BRAND.
