Alec Baldwin Engaged To 28 Year-old Yoga Instructor

Alec Baldwin has asked his 28 year-old girlfriend to marry him, New York Daily News reported yesterday (April 2, 2012). Alec, 54, apparently popped the question to Hilaria Thomas whilst the couple enjoyed a romantic getaway in Montauk on Saturday. Yesterday, his fiancée was spotted wearing a square-cut diamond Cartier ring. They have been dating since the summer, but only went public with their relationship in September 2011.

Alec's brother, actor Stephen Baldwin learnt of the news when his brother sent him a photo message, depicting a "petite female hand with a large beautiful ring on it." Baldwin told reporters "I kinda knew this was coming and couldn't be happier for my big brother Alec and Hilaria." Prior to asking for her hand in marriage, Alec had treated Hilaria to a night out at Emporio, in advance of his birthday today. A source told New York Daily News that Alec and Hilaria were serenaded by the opera singer Ryan MACpherson as part of the unforgettable night out. Alec was previously married to the actress Kim Basinger, between 1993 and 2001. They have a 16 year-old daughter together.

On his Twitter page, Alec Baldwin has criticised the New York Daily News for "crashing" one of Hilaria's yoga classes. Baldwin posted the names of the Daily News' reporters who had attended the class ad later posted a message that read "Shame on the no- talent trash from the Daily News for invading the privacy of 75 people in a yoga class to take a picture of someone."
