Alanis Morissette - Alanis Morissette Eager To Get Back On Stage

The 38-year old is ready to shed the mum look and get back into the music business; "it's all very, very exciting. Playing shows, getting ready to release the record. I've been under a rock for a while, being a new mom and wearing sweatpants," explained the Ironic singer. "It'll be nice to get out of the house and wear something shiny again, or maybe even something fitted, to remind myself I have a body." Alanis is happy she took the break to start a family though, and even though she's keen to get back in the game, she's positive she's made the right decisions. "I didn't want to get to 90 and have no family around me and think I had done nothing other than work. In the past few years I very much prioritised personal fulfilment and I'm really glad I did."

Morissette and husband, Mario 'MC Souleye' Treadway - gave birth to son Ever in December 2010, and the rapper is more than keen to look after their baby son whilst his wife re-engages with her music career. Father and son were pictured recently enjoying a day out in New York whilst Mum was promoting Havoc and Bright Lights, her comeback album, which is released today.
