Ailing Vargas Cancels Gig

Illness has forced Costa Rican singer Chavela Vargas to cancel a Mexico appearance, where she was scheduled to receive a career honour.
The Paloma Negra star, 88, was set to be honoured at the XIV Encuentro Internacional del Mariachi festival in Guadalajara on 30 August (07).
Her representative says, "Although her health has improved in the last few days, she has a medical problem and her doctors requires her to remain in complete rest."
