Afi Announce Top 10 Films Of 2007
The American Film Institute has named INTO THE WILD, MICHAEL CLAYTON and KNOCKED UP as among the top 10 films of 2007. The annual list - which is in no particular order - is put together by a panel of moviemakers, reviewers and academics, and is usually hailed as an indicator of which films will triumph during the forthcoming awards season. However, most notable in this year's compilation is the absence of several major movies including Atonement, Charlie Wilson's War and American Gangster - all of which received multiple nominations for the 2008 Golden Globe Awards. The rest of the inclusions in the top 10 are There Will Be Blood, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Juno, No Country for Old Men, Ratatouille and The Savages. The AFI has also named its picks for the top TV shows of the year with Ugly Betty, 30 Rock and The Sopranos making the list. Other shows featured include Dexter, Everybody Hates Chris, Friday Night Lights, Longford, Mad Men, Pushing Daisies and Tell Me You Love Me.
