Aeg - Aeg Representative Dismisses Latest Michael Jackson Death Lawsuit

14 November 2012

Michael Amir Williams alleges Aeg bosses failed to act responsibly by hiring Dr. Conrad Murray as the King of Pop's personal physician, and their supposed negligence cost him a huge payday.

The plaintiff claimed Aeg executives had promised to pay $7.5 million (£4.69 million) to members of Jackson's staff involved in the doomed This Is It London residency, but the deal fell through when the Thriller hitmaker died unexpectedly on 25 June, 2009.

Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and jailed for administering the fatal dose of anaesthetic Propofol which cost Jackson his life, and Williams was hoping to cash in on the unfortunate turn of events by suing Aeg.

However, a spokesperson for the company is convinced Williams' lawsuit is baseless and won't stand up in court because the assistant was never named a beneficiary of Jackson's concert deal.

The representative tells Tmz.com, "This lawsuit is clearly frivolous; it is literally barred by at least four different legal doctrines.

"The idea that Mr. Williams purports to sue on behalf of the many persons who did enter into relationships with Aeg Live and Jackson... and with whom Aeg Live parted ways with the utmost friendship and respect, is disgraceful.

"This is just the latest wrongful death lawsuit with someone hoping to profit from Michael Jackson's tragic death in the same way they profited from his life."
