Adrien Brody's Dad Shot Scene For Detachment
The Academy Award winner, who stars as a substitute teacher in the movie, asked his dad Elliot to make an appearance playing his character Henry Barthes' estranged father.
The scene was ultimately scrapped but Brody hopes it will be included as a Dvd extra because he was blown away by his dad's performance.
He says, "I swear, he was f**king brilliant; my mum and I were, like, jaws on the floor."
Brody also admits his portrayal of Barthes was inspired by Elliot, a retired history professor and painter.
He adds, "(The role is) an homage to my father and the contribution he's made, which is very generous and under-appreciated by society."
