Adele - Adele To Give Birth In September

Adele is reportedly due to give birth in September.

The 'Someone Like You' singer is seven months pregnant by boyfriend Simon Konecki, but has hidden her bump from the public by keeping a low profile and wearing baggy clothes.

A source close to the singer says Simon and Adele wanted to keep their happy news a secret for as long as possible to avoid attention.

A source told heat magazine: '''Adele has barely left the house in recent months, so she could keep this to herself for as long as possible.

''She stopped exercising a few months ago, and since then it's been all about the baby.''

Other friends say 36-year-old Simon - who has a five-year-old daughter from a previous marriage - and Adele, 24, have been keen to have children since they started dating last year.

Another source told LOOK magazine: ''Family is very important to them and they've been talking about kids and getting married since they met last September. I think Adele's still quite surprised at how quickly it happened, though.

''She's clearly got the usual nerves of an expectant mom, but Simon's been amazingly reassuring, they're both so happy.''

It has also been rumored the couple could have married in secret, after Simon was seen wearing what looked like a wedding ring when he attended the Ivor Novello awards with Adele earlier this year.

Adele revealed her pregnancy to her fans on her website in June, writing: ''I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together.

''I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we're over the moon. Yours always, Adele.''

Adele's last album, 21, was the longest running No.1 album on the Billboard 200 chart in over 20 years. It was also named Amazon's highest-selling album of all time.

Little is known about the new record, other than that Adele approached Phil Collins, Diane Warren and One Republic's Ryan Tedder to work on collaborations. The latter worked on Adele's 'Rumour Has It'.

So What Do We Know About Adele’s New Album? 4261776 News

It’s been two years since Adele released ‘Skyfall’ and frankly the music business misses her. But rumour has it, the singer could be about to come back to the pop world, and unexpectedly drop a new record. But what do we know about the singer’s very top secret third album?

AdeleCould Adele be about to release her third album?

Adele has been doing all she can to make sure no one finds out much about her highly anticipated third album. Never one to behave like everyone else on planet pop, the singer has kept quiet about her rumoured future release, but it’s only made us even more intrigued. The closest we’ve got so far to having any word from the woman herself, is a cryptic tweet sent out last month which read, ‘Bye bye 25... See you again later in the year x’.

More: Keira Knightley wishes she could sing like Adele

Adele broke onto the pop scene in 2008 with her debut album 19. She then followed it up three years later with 21, which would go on to sell over 26 million copies worldwide by 2013. Last month, the singer celebrated her 26th birthday, so if the rumours are correct her album would have been recorded when she was 25. You see where we’re going here with that tweet, Adele likes naming her albums after the age she was when they were recorded. So we're guessing 25 is next.

In February, the rumour was that Adele and Prince had been working together on tracks for her new album. But later a representative for the purple one denied the claims. However another pop legend, Phil Collins, has confirmed that he’s been working with the singer. He told a Florida newspaper earlier in the year, “I've just started to work with Adele. She contacted me to write together."

All had been quiet on the Adele album front, until the Daily Star published a story last week, claiming the release of ’25’ was imminent. A source told the newspaper: "The album is written, recorded and finished. Theoretically it could be released tomorrow if she wanted.” Adding that "The plan is to release internationally on iTunes as a complete surprise without any previous promotion or build-up publicity campaign.”

AdeleAdele is one of pop's most secretive stars

So will Adele end up doing a Beyonce? We can certainly imagine so. If there’s one person who really doesn't need too much promotion it’s Adele. Over the past three years she’s pretty much single handedly resurrected the record buying market thanks to her massive album sales. If a new Adele album was to drop tomorrow, people will buy it, no questions asked. So keep your eyes and ears open, because the next offering from Adele could appear at anytime and we’re guessing she’s not going to give us a heads up.

"Unacceptable" Terms Of YouTube's Music Service Could Spell Mass Exodus For Indie Labels 4248226 News

Videos from independent music labels could start disappearing from YouTube in the coming weeks, as the website has reached an impasse in the negotiations with several record companies. As YouTube prepares to launch a brand new music service, which would dispense with ads and allow users to download full-length albums, contracts have been negotiated with the three major labels – Sony, Universal and Warner. The indies, as represented by WIN (Worldwide Independent Network) have not been offered the same deal, according to Forbes. This could mean that soon, indie artists like Adele and Radiohead could start disappearing from the site. The wipe would exclude videos under the VEVO umbrella, but live performances and particularly rare recordings are under threat.

Adele
Artists like Adele tend to pride themselves on their indie status, but it could now do them a huge disservice.

Independent labels have instead been offered template contracts with unacceptable, but non-negotiable terms which undercut the rates of services like Spotify and Rdio.

“This is not a fair way to do business. WIN questions any actions by any organization that would seek to injure and punish innocent labels and musicians — and their innocent fans — in order to pursue its ambitions,” said Alison Wenham, CEO of WIN and chairman of the Association of Independent Music, UK (AIM).

YouTube officials, on the other hand, maintain that the changes are all in the fans’ best interest. Speaking to the Financial Times, Robert Kyncl, the company’s head of content and business operations, says that videos from independent artists could be blocked “in a matter of days” if the labels continued to refuse to sign. Some content will still be available va channels such as Vevo, but exclusive content such as live performances will vanish.

For many observers, this marks yet another step in YouTube’s move away from the independent and free platform, which the website has always represented. According to Kristoffer Rom, co-chairman of Danish indepependent label association DUP, losing touch with independent creators could mean the company’s downfall.

Adele & Arctic Monkeys' Music Videos Face YouTube Removal If Labels Refuse Terms 4247108 News

Hundreds of music videos will be removed from YouTube if the artists' record labels do not sign up to the sites new subscription service. Music videos by artists such as Adele and Arctic Monkeys could be removed from the site as their independent labels have refused to sign YouTube's licensing terms, meaning their videos could be removed within days.

Adele's music videos could face removal.

YouTube's new subscription service will charge users to listen to music without advertisements and allow users to download tracks on to their mobiles. The service is due to start a trial within the next few days and will enable users to upgrade their current YouTube and Google apps to a paid for subscription in which they will be able to watch and download music videos even without internet connection. After an initial trial, the service should become available to all users by the end of the summer.

As the Financial Times reports, YouTube's head of content and business operations Robert Kyncl has stated these labels are in the minority. He estimated 90% of labels have agreed to sign the terms and conditions but the remaining 10% have not and are attempting to block YouTube removing their artists' videos.

Arctic Monkeys
The Arctic Monkeys videos could also be removed.

The record labels in question, represented by trade body Impala, have asked the European regulators to intervene on their behalf. They claimed, as the FT reports, YouTube issued an "explicit threat" to remove their videos if they did not sign the agreement.  The concern of music labels appears to surround the deal YouTube is offering. Allegedly, the two main labels who are refusing to sign are XL Recordings (who represent Adele) and Domino (representing Arctic Monkeys). It has been suggested they are simply holding out as a means of reaching a more lucrative deal. However, Kyncl stated "We're paying them fairly and consistently with the industry."

Regardless of the threat posed by independent labels, Kyncl stated the company are not overly concerned by those who have not signed the terms. He said "While we wish that we had 100 per cent success rate, we understand that is not likely an achievable goal and therefore it is our responsibility to our users and the industry to launch the enhanced music experience."

Ed Sheeran Received Sage Advice From Fairy Godfather-like Pharrell 4239507 News

With his sophomore album, X, Ed Sheeran is taking a whole new musical direction and he couldn’t have found a better advisor than Pharrell Williams. In his new MTV documentary, Sheeran talks about the process of working on his first single off X, the dance anthem Sing.

Ed Sheeran
S
heeran attributes the success of Sing  in part to Pharrell Williams' sage advice.

Apparently the track wouldn’t have seen the light of day (not as a single anyway) until much later, had it not been for Pharrell’s advice.

"I swear Pharrell has special foresight," he recalled. "I said I wanted to release 'Don't' as the first single. He said it should be 'Sing' and it would do over 100,000 in the US.

"And sure enough it's done 140,000. I owe him a hat or something."

Pharrell played a sort of musical fairy godfather to the song. Besides dispensing sage advice, he also produced and did recorded guest vocals for Sing.

In the interest of full disclosure, the documentary also revealed some previously unseen sides of Sheeran, which we all really needed to know about. Like the time he hung out with Adele, Rick Rubin and Sir Elton John, while wearing a pirate costume.

Pharrell Williams
So does he owe Pharrell a hat now?

"Rick came to my birthday gig and I was dressed as a pirate," he added. "I was summoned by Elton John to meet him, so it was us and Adele.

"I felt awkward dressed as a pirate."

See? Highly important information.

Jack White Apologises For Negative Comments About Meg White, The Black Keys And Adele 4224556 News

Jack White has apologised for criticising his ex-wife and former bandmate Meg White, singer Adele and rockers The Black Keys in a candid new interview with Rolling Stone magazine.

The former The White Stripes frontman hit headlines last week (ends30May14) after opening up about his relationship with White in the revealing chat, claiming he always felt alone in the duo, even at the height of its success.

He said, "She's one of those people who won't high-five me when I get the touchdown. She viewed me that way of, 'Oh, big deal, you did it, so what?' Almost every single moment of The White Stripes was like that. We'd be working in the studio and something amazing would happen: I'm like, 'Damn, we just broke into a new world right there!' And Meg's sitting in silence."

He also reignited his long-standing feud with The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, accusing them of continuing to copy his former band's sound, and took aim at British soul star Adele, suggesting she would not have sold 20 million copies of her album 21 if Amy Winehouse was still alive.

However, he has now shared a lengthy open letter on his website apologising for his negative comments.

In a post titled, "An apology and explanation from Jack White", he claims he wanted to clear the air to avoid being "hounded by nonsense" in future interviews and blames his candid Rolling Stone comments on feeling "in a way forced into talking about very private opinions of mine".

He insisted he bears no ill will to the likes of The Black Keys or Adele, and alleged his statements about ex-bandmate Meg were "blown out of proportion", adding, "Somehow I looked like I was picking on her. I would never publicly do that to someone I love so dearly. And, there are mountains of interviews where my words are very clear on how important I think she is to me and to music."

He continued, "Anyone who can get people to pay attention for more than a second with musical notes in this age, or any age for that matter, deserves credit and applause...

"So, God bless The Black Keys, Danger Mouse, Adele, Meg White, and anyone else I've spoken about, and thank you for understanding. Good fortune to all of them, and I'm sorry for my statements hurting anyone."

Jack White Apologises For Black Keys & Meg White Rolling Stone Comments 4223090 News

Jack White, the former frontman of The White Stripes, has apologised for the seemingly insensitive comments he made in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine. White is the cover of June's Rolling Stone magazine and made a series of comments in the accompanying interview in which he appeared to criticise The Black Keys, amongst others, for capitalising on the sound and music style he made so popular.

Jack White
Jack White has issued an apology to numerous acts.

White's comments about The Black Keys were revealed when his ex-wife, Karen Elson, made public emails between the two which described White's opinions on the band. The revelation was as a result of their ongoing divorce case.

White has issued an apology on his website, published on Saturday (31st May), in which he addresses the comments he made in the recent article. White stated he wished to "clear up a lot of negativity" surrounding what he had said in the recent Rolling Stone interview.

White, aged 38, claimed he has been "forced" into discussing "private opinions" and that members of the legal profession had used his revelations as a means of provoking legal action against him. However, White's apology was evidently to ensure The Black Keys were in no means misled by his previous comments as he wished them "all the success they can get". White also added his congratulations to The Black Keys' producers and record label. He added "Lord knows that I can tell you myself how hard it is to get people to pay attention to a two piece band with a plastic guitar, so any attention that the Black Keys can get in this world I wish it for them, and I hope their record stays in the top ten for many months and they have many more successful albums in their career."

White was preciously a member of The White Stripes, along with his ex-wife Meg White. Whilst The Black Keys consists of two musicians, Dan Auerbach on guitar and vocals and Patrick Carney on drums.

The former White Stripes frontman claimed he only made such comments to Rolling Stone as opposed to issuing a simple "no comment". White stated he meant "no slight to the talents" of such musicians as Amy Winehouse, Duffy, Lana dey Ray or Adele. He added that how his words had been reported was a simple misunderstanding which had been used to the advantage of other interested parties. He also referred to his former musical partner, and ex-wife Meg White, as "a strong female presence in rock and roll".

He rounded off his lengthy apology by stating the situation "got blow of proportion and made into headlines". White further added "God bless the Black Keys, Danger Mouse, Adele, Meg White, and anyone else I've spoken about, and thank you for your understanding." He concluded his stated by wishing all the musicians he had previously mentioned "good fortune" and apologised for his "statements hurting anyone."

Coldplay's 'Ghost Stories' And The Five Best Breakup Albums Of All Time 4197719 News

Coldplay’s new album Ghost Stories has been released, to quite a mixed bag of reviews. When just three weeks after the album’s track listing had been announced Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow announced their “conscious uncoupling” we all had a pretty good idea what the tone of the album would be like. With tracks like “Another’s Arms,” “Always in my Head” and “Magic,” it became pretty self-explanatory that "Ghost Stories" was going to be a breakup album.

Coldplay Breakup Albums "Ghost Stories" focuses on the marriage breakup between Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow

Perhaps he was inspired to call the album “Ghost Stories” as some of these breakup albums have been the some of the most hauntingly heartbreaking albums ever released.

Abba “The Visitors” 1981

ABBA may have become best known for their dance-y disco tracks, but their final album “The Visitors” marked the split between married band members Benny and Frida. Songs like “When All Is Said and Done,” “Slipping Through My Fingers” and “One of Us” will go down in history as some of the most memorable breakup songs of all time.

Alanis Morissette “Jagged Little Pill” 1995

Morisette’s 1995 album sums up that whole feminist grunge movement of the 90s. The singer-songwriter’s most famous track, “Ironic,” is off the album, although the breakup song “You Oughta Know” has become a theme tune for the embittered and heartbroken. Definitely a hairbrush in the mirror song, although make sure you’re in a soundproof room, this would can get pretty loud and aggressive.

Amy Winehouse Breakup Albums Winehouse, who died in 2011, was known for her gritty form of jazz

Amy Winehouse “Back to Black” 2006

Winehouse’s magnum opus, “Back to Black” is jazzy, soulful and quintessentially Amy. Written when the late songstress was at her lowest ebb with drug-taking and troubles in her marriage to the unwholesome Blake Field-Civil, the album is gritty and frank. Amy never sugarcoated her lyrics, this album isn’t just one of the best breakup albums of all time, it’s one of the best albums, full stop.

Bon Iver “For Emma, Forever Ago” 2007

Suffering with mononucleosis and a broken heart, Justin Vernon spent three months alone in a cabin in Wisconsin. The product was “For Emma, Forever Ago.” Haunting and delicate, the album’s most famous track “Skinny Love” has become one of the most recognised songs of the past decade and was even covered by singer Birdy in 2011.

Adele Breakup Albums Adele's performance at the BRIT Awards is one of the most memorable performances of all time

Adele “21” 2011

Potentially the most famous breakup album of all time, Adele has become known as the queen of heartache. The album charts the split between Adele and her boyfriend who began seeing someone else as soon as the relationship finished. Adele’s performance of “Someone Like You” at the BRITs is one of the most memorable performances in the history of the award show, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

Richest Musicians: Adele, Calvin Harris Made More Money Than Several Countries 4196346 News

It’s time for the annual Sunday Times list of richest people under 30, so grab a tub of ice cream and start wondering what went wrong in your own life in comparison to these folks. In a surprise twist, Adele (26) topped the list, despite releasing her last album in 2011. Adele’s list of achievements currently includes several Grammies and an Oscar, as well as £15 million earned since last year’s tally. There are also whispers of a new album coming at the end of this year, so we will probably see Adele near the top of the 2015 chart as well.

Adele, Oscars
Adele is a pro at turning heartbreak into art. Also lots and lots of money.

The second name on the list is also familiar it’s Calvin Harris, who is currently sitting pretty on top of the singles chart with his track Summer. Harris, aka Adam Richard Wiles, dropped his third studio album 18 Months in  2012 and has been releasing a steady stream of singles since then. No wonder that his net worth is now estimated at £30 million.

Read our review of 18 Months here.

And then there’s the third act in the chart which is, big surprise, One Direction. It’s been about six months since the release of 1D’s third studio album Midnight Memories. Harry, Liam, Zayn, Louis and Niall have spent a lot of that time on the road for their third arena tour Take Me Home, which made (you might want to sit down for this) approximately £31 million. This year, the group are reportedly worth an estimated £14m each, almost triple the amount of 2013's earnings. Collectively that makes One Direction the richest boyband in British music history, with a combined wealth of £70m.

Newcommers to the list include X Factor winner Leona Lewis at No 9, sharing the spot with Mumford & Sons' Marcus Mumford and his wife, Carey Mulligan.

So... what have you done this year?

Adele Suggests Third Album '25' Will Be Released In 2014 4183153 News

Adele has dropped a big hint that suggests her third album may be released towards the end of 2014.

The singer, who celebrated turning 26 on Monday (May 5th) took to Twitter to post a cryptic message to her 20.1 million followers.

"Bye bye 25... See you again later in the year x," she wrote, along with a photo of herself giving the thumbs up.

Adele's previous top two selling albums, '19' (2008) and '21' (2011), were titled in accordance to her age when she wrote most of the songs, so the cryptic tweet raises one question.

Could 25 be the title of her next album?

The Londoner's return to the music scene would be hotly anticipated, she already received six Grammy-Awards for '21' and dominated the charts with tracks like 'Rolling In The Deep' and 'Someone Like You.'

Last year she also received an Academy-Award for Best Original Song for 'Skyfall,' the soundtrack to the 2012 James Bond film.

The songstress has had a lengthy break since releasing her last album, but this is mainly due to raising her 18-month-old son Angelo, whom she shares with charity entrepreneur boyfriend Simon Konecki.

After dominating the 2012 Grammys, Adele told US Vogue, "I am f***ing off for four or five years. If I am constantly working, my relationships fail."

"So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy," she added. "I'm never writing a breakup record again, by the way. I'm done with being a bitter witch."

However, this past January Phil Collins revealed, to Inside South Florida, that he was working on writing songs with Adele, despite not knowing much about her. "I wasn't actually too aware [of her]. I live in a cave. She's achieved an incredible amount and I really love her voice and I love some of that stuff she's done," he said.
