Adele - Adele 'Super Happy' With Throat Surgery Recovery
Adele has spoken - well, written - for the first time since going under the knife for an operation on her throat. The singer had what's called a benign polyp on her throat, something usually the result of unstable blood vessels in the vocal cord and, despite a phenomenal year in which her second album '21' went multi-platinum on both sides of the Atlantic, it caused the singer to end her 2011 on somewhat of a sour note with two US tours cancelled.
At one point fans were worrying that Adele might even have throat cancer, something which thankfully didn't come to pass; now the singer seems to be making a strong recovery from the operation - which took place earlier this month - and took to her official website to leave the following message.
"Sorry I haven't written for a while. Thank you for all your positive thoughts and get well wishes. I'm doing really well, on the mend, super happy, relaxed and very positive with it all. The operation was a success and I'm just chilling out now until I get the all clear from my doctors. Thank you to everyone who voted for the awards I've won recently as well. Hugely appreciated. I best get back to practicing my mime show now. Take care, miss you all - Always adele xx" Good news finally for an artist that can still reflect on the past few months with pride, selling over 3 million copies of '21' in the UK and going four times platinum in the US.
