Adele - Adele: 'So Drunk, I Forgot My Words'

The book, which is due to be published next month, apparently quotes the young singer as saying "I got so drunk by the time I went on at 2am I had forgotten the words to my own songs." She's made no secret of her love of booze, though and has often confessed that she loves to share a bottle of wine with her pal, TV presenter Alan Carr. She was once asked by a Us Tv presenter whether or not she could dance and she replied "only when I'm drunk." She might be able to laugh about her fondness for getting tipsy but Marc Shapiro's book reveals a darker side to Adele's boozy reputation.

Shapiro apparently told an American magazine that she first started to hit the bottle because of being treated badly by boys. She was once left heartbroken by a bisexual boyfriend who cheated on her and turned to alcohol to soothe her woes. "Midway through her first tour, she allegedly had a drinking problem," the book reveals. She has, however, also managed to turn that heartache into success, having won a slew of awards for her album '21,' which she freely admits is based on being treated badly by an ex.
