Adele Snubs 'Daunting' Glastonbury Gig
Eavis has turned the three-day extravaganza into one of the U.K.'s biggest music events since its launch in 1971, attracting superstars including Sir Paul MCCartney, U2 and Jay Z to play for fans.
He was eager to land current chart phenomenon Adele to headline next year's (13) final night, but despite her success, the singer was too nervous about performing for such a huge crowd.
Eavis tells Britain's Metro, "She knows that we want her anyway, but she doesn't want to do a thing our size. Going on the Pyramid Stage is a bit daunting in front of 80,000 people, it's a bit much really."
Eavis adds that the Rolling in the Deep star will still be present at the festival - but only as a reveller.
He says, "She comes every year usually, and has her own little party."
