Adele Pulls Out Of Mercury Music Prize Performance
A chest infection prompted the British soul sensation to cancel the start of her U.K. tour in Plymouth on Sunday (04Sep11), and she also postponed a show in Bournemouth on Monday (05Sep11).
And now she has scrapped plans to perform at the prizegiving ceremony, which she is a favourite to win for her hit album 21.
Adele will still attend the ceremony in London.
Her cancellation is a big blow for Mercury Music Prize organisers, who were hoping all 11 shortlisted acts would be able to perform at the annual ceremony for the first time.
Other nominees include Elbow, James Blake, Anna Calvi, Tinie Tempah, PJ Harvey and Ghostpoet.
The winner of the coveted album award will receive $32,000 (Gbp20,000).
