Adele - Adele Outsells Michael Jackson

Why are MJ fans so agressively negative? Adele has a wonderful voice and doesn't need the use of autotunes or to lipsynch etc. She's a rare bread these days and all you can do is go off on a tantrum. Well here's something to choke on and get agressive about. Doing so will change nothing and denying or refusing to believe it will not make it so either. Michael Jackson is not the biggest selling artist in the world. He holds the record for a best selling album, but not OVERALL. There is a difference before you all start foaming at the mouth. If you check the Guiness Book of World Records you will see that in 1986 The Beatles surpassed the 1 billion sales mark (making them the best selling/most successful artist) and it is accepted that they have gone beyond the 1.5 billion mark. So over all The Beatles are the best selling and most successfull musical artists. I'm not sure if this particular record has been listed since but I know it was listed in GBoWR 2006 publication. Read it and weep seeing as it's going to come as an unacceptable (to you) fact. Your refulsal to believe or accept it will not null and void the achievement. It will just mean you cannot accept it but it will still stand. There was talk at the beginning of the year that Michael was possibly going to break the 1b mark, but that source was TMZ (ha!) and has still to be confirmed by Sony/Estate. But it will not be a record just a personal milestone. Why are Michael jackson fans not able to accept that there are other good artists out there past and present? Michael Jackson's personal image and reputation needs cleaned up anyway before people will even care if he sold his soul. And as far as sales goes, because of piracy on the internet record/dvd sales have plummented in the past decade to the point that no-one will likely manage to reach signifcant sales. Take that into account that in the UK alone she has sold in excess of 4million is an achievement. Then add illegal downloads and how many more millions can be added to that. Then take the figures from the other markets. It adds up. But again, because of illegal sites, not many artists will have sales that were reached back in the 60's when you had to sell in excess of 1m singles make the top 5, and much more albums to impact the album chart. Today you only need to sell 100,000 albums to be number 1. Sign of the times and to the detriment of music lovers as the industry could eventually cease to exist. Oh, London is in but is not the UK.
