Adele - Adele Gets Standing Ovation For Blistering 'Rolling In The Deep'

Adele has waited a long time to cap her success in the US following her throat surgery last Autumn after ongoing problems with her voice throughout the second part of 2011. There could have been no sweeter way to do it as she took the award in every category she was nominated in - six in all - and received a standing ovation following her return to live performance with a blistering rendition of her huge hit 'Rolling In The Deep.' Indeed if Lana Del Rey ever needed to take notes on how to perform on TV following her recent fragile outings, it'd be the 23 year-old who she should be learning from.
Among the six gongs scooped by the British artist were the industry's three main honours; Best Album, Best Record and Best Song Of The Year, and it was just desserts for a singer who some would suggest had single-handedly carried the recording business in 2011 thanks to her 6.3 million selling second album '21,' part of an estimated 17 million sold worldwide.
Reuters reports that unsurprisingly it was an occasion that meant a great deal to Adele too, clearly emotional during her speeches, the star commented "This record is inspired by something that is really normal and everyone's been through it, just a rubbish relationship, and it's gone on to do things I can't tell you how I feel about it, it's been the most life-changing year." Though at one point looking like her career might be seriously derailed, you wouldn't bet against 2013 being another year in which Adele shines.
