Adele - Adele Cut Off Abruptly During Brit Awards Acceptance Speech

The Londoner had begun speaking of her astonishment at scooping six Grammy Awards last week and two Brit Awards this week, when Corden returned onto the stage to say, "I'm so, so, sorry I have to do this". Adele asked "Are you going cut-me off", to which Corden replied, "I'm so sorry. Here's Blur!". The crowd began audibly booing as the British rockers began their set. The group - who had received the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award earlier in the night - played a set-list including hit singles 'Girls and Boys', 'Song 2' and 'Parklife', with actor Phil Daniels providing vocals for the latter. TV presenter and former model Melanie Sykes was less than impressed with both the abrupt cut-off, and Blur's performance, tweeting, "Would have rather listened to Adele thank everyone she has ever met in her life than that. And it was all going swimmingly well. Awkward!!!". Musician and actor Martin Kemp said, "Cutting off Adele was such bad news". Piers Morgan, who had been critical with the majority of his tweets throughout the night, said, "Adele, greatest British musical talent to emerge in decades, gets Cut Off? Classy stuff Brits - what a shambles".

Despite being cut-off, it had been a successful night for Adele, who took home the awards for Best British Female Act and Best Album, for '21'.
