However, in a statement on her official website, Adele claimed she was unable to perform again in 2011, saying she was undergoing surgery to "alleviate the current issues with her throat". She added, "As a result, doctors have ordered her to rest her voice and completely recuperate before looking to schedule any work commitments". The singer, who recently won Best Female Artist and Best Track at the Q Magazine Awards, was due to perform six dates in the UK next month, which initially had been postponed from September when she suffered a chest infection. Writing on her website, the dejected star said, "I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or I risk damaging my voice forever", adding that she was "heartbroken and worried" by the problems.
The singer has enjoyed monumental success both in the UK and U.S. with second album '21'. The record topped the lucrative US Billboard 200 charts for over three months.
