Download sales of 21 have reached record-breaking figures in the 11 months since its release in January (11).

News of the impressive feat emerges as the Someone Like You hitmaker recovers from vocal cord surgery. Adele underwent the operation to fix a recurrent throat condition in Boston, Massachusetts earlier this month (Nov11).

The surgery forced the star to cancel her tour dates for the rest of this year (11).
