Adam Sandler - Adam Sandler Nominated Elevn Times At This Year's Razzies
Adam Sandler has received eleven nominations for the Razzies, the spoof awards that highlight the worst movies of the year. It is a record for Adam Sandler who wrote, produced and starred in 'Jack and Jill', 'Just Go with It' and 'Bucky Larson: Born to be a star'.
The previous record had been held by Eddie Murphy for 'Norbit' in 2007. These nominations include worst actor for both 'Jack and Jill' and 'Just Go with It', worst actress for 'Jack and Jill' where he also plays his own twin sister, worst screen couple with Jennifer Aniston or Brooklyn Decker in 'Just Go with It' and opposite Katie Holmes, Al Pacino or himself in 'Jack and Jill'. Sandler also received worst-picture and worst prequel, remake, rip-off or sequel nominations for both 'Bucky Larson' and 'Jack and Jill', and worst-screenplay nominations as a writer on both movies. This was all topped off with a worst-ensemble nomination for 'Jack and Jill'. Razzies founder John Wilson stated: 'It's almost karmic for someone to have made that much razz-able stuff in one year. He has angered someone really powerful, I would say.'
Other contenders for worst-picture are 'New Year's Eve', 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' and 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1'. Transformers came in second with nine nominations and Breaking Dawn behind with eight. The winners will be announced on April Fool's Day.
