Adam Levine - Adam Levine In Expletive Rant At Mtv Video Music Awards
Adam Levine has slammed the Mtv Video Music Awards and questioned whether the network "cares" about music anymore. The Maroon 5 frontman won't be attending Sunday's ceremony in Los Angeles and took to his Twitter page to slam the event's organisers.
The singer, whose band found recent success with single 'Moves Like Jagger', told followers, "The VMAs are the one day a year when Mtv pretends to still care about music". The 32-year-old added, "I'm drawing a line in the sand. F*ck you, VMAs". Somewhat surprisingly, Mtv responded just minutes later, telling the singer, "Soooo you'll be tuning in at 9/8C tomorrow right? (BTW, bonus points if you TwitPic your 2004 Moonman!)", relating to his band's success at the ceremony seven years ago. The response prompted Levine, who is currently on tour with Train and Gavin Degraw, to stick by his initial comments, saying, "Still waiting to have my 'Jerry Maguire mission statement moment of deep regret. Not happening. Phew!" Despite gaining praise for the 'Moves Like Jagger' video, Maroon 5 failed to land a single nomination for this year's awards show.
Artists scheduled to perform at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles tonight include Lady Gaga, Young The Giant, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown. Jay Z and Kanye West are also rumoured to be performing.
