The two stars' albums are the sixth and seventh releases from Idol stars to reach number one.

Underwood's new album slips two spots to three on the new chart, while Adele stands firm at two with 21.

Norah Jones' Little Broken Hearts rises a spot to four, while Jack Black's comedy duo Tenacious D debut at five with Rize of the Fenix.
