Adam Carolla - Adam Carolla Blasts Protestors, 'They've Been Shamed By Life'
Adam Carolla, the American radio host, television presenter and comedian, is one of the first celebrities to come out against the Occupy Wall Street movement, accusing the protestors of being self-entitled and coddled by their mothers, according to the New York Daily News.
Despite offering medical and relationship advice to his listeners on radio call-in show 'Loveline', Carolla was in no mood to sympathise with the youth of America during his November podcast, when he delivered an expletive-laced rant about the recent protests, saying, "We are now dealing with the first waves of participation trophies ... 'I feel so f*cking good about myself. Everybody's a winner, no one's a loser. We're dealing with the first wave of those". He later argued that the disparity of American wealth wasn't to do with corporations favoring the rich, but simply the result of people working harder or being more talented than others. Furthering his point about the protestors, Adam explained, "They've been shamed by life because they haven't been prepared for life. They've had so much smoke blown up their collective asses, by the time they get out in the real world and they realize the real world doesn't give a f*ck where you're from or what your mommy said you were or how pretty you are".
Carolla, whose book 'In Fifty Years We'll All Be Chicks' entered the New York Times Bestseller list, is one of the few celebrities to attack the protest movement. Stars including Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Kanye West and Katy Perry all lent their support to the campaign.
