Adam Ant - Adam Ant Wants Depp Role

Adam Ant wants to take over from Johnny Depp in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movies.

The 'Prince Charming' singer says the Hollywood actor has stolen his look from the 80s for his role as Jack Sparrow in the movie franchise and thinks he would be the perfect replacement should Johnny ever quit.

He told UK daytime TV show 'Loose Woman': "Johnny Depp acts like a pirate; I am a pirate and I've always been a pirate. He does a good job, but when he gets a bit tired I think I'll have a crack at that, I'd love to."

While he is keen to appear on the big stage, Adam is currently concentrating on his music career and will soon be doing his first tour for 15 years.

The musician - who has made no secret of his personal struggles in the past, including a battle with anti-depressants - says he is confident he has put his problems behind him and put on a good show.

He said: "I think the physical side of things - my hero was Muhammad Ali, and he was a sportsman so the idea is.I've never taken drugs - that's the only reason I can do anything. Because I think that's the biggest problem in my business, in entertainment business in general. And because there's so much boredom; two hours on stage, twenty-two hours of getting in trouble. But I've always liked the work and the work is its own reward for me."
