British actress Sophiya Haque has died, aged 41.
The former Coronation Street star was diagnosed with cancer just before Christmas (12). She passed away in London on Wednesday (16Jan13) following a bout of pneumonia, reports the Bbc.
Haque portrayed barmaid Poppy Morales on Coronation Street from 2008 to 2009.
Her illness forced her to pull out of West End show Privates on Parade at the beginning of 2013.
The Anglo-Asian was a former presenter for MTV Asia and she also enjoyed success as a Bollywood star.
Haque also starred in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Bombay Dreams and featured in Angelina Jolie's 2008 action film Wanted.
She also fronted the band Akasa.
The 1969 session, including the only known recording of 'Sunshine Woman' by the band, will be included on a re-issue of 'The Complete BBC Sessions'...
