Sean Young - Actress Sean Young Among Seven Arrested At Oscars 2012
Actress Sean Young, best known for her performances in Blade Runner and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, was one of seven people arrested at the 84th Academy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday (February 26, 2012), according to California's City News Service.
Young spent five hours in Lapd custody until early Monday morning after being placed under citizen arrest for alleged battery during an altercation at the official post-Oscars show the Governor's Ball. Celebrity news site Tmz.com reported that the actress became involved in a heated dispute with a security guard at the party, held at the Hollywood & Highland Center. She was released at around 2.55 am on Monday after posting $20,000 bail, according to Sgt. Enrique Mitzi Fierro of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section. The actress had a history of getting on the wrong side of the law at star-studded events - she had attempted to crash the Vanity Fair Oscar party in 2006, and entered rehabilitation for alcohol abuse in 2008 when she was removed from the Directors Guild of American Awards. According to the Internet Movie Database, Sean Young has four films due for release this year, including 'Attack of the 50ft Cheerleader', with Treat Williams.
Elsewhere at this year's Oscars, four arrests were made for suspicion of committing felonies, while a further three were for suspicion of using fraudulent credentials - mainly phony press passes. One arrest was made because a person tried to snatch a purse near the red carpet.
