Ryan passed away on Thursday (23Apr15) in Burbank, California, aged 69.

He made a number of small cameos in popular TV series throughout the years, including stints on Bewitched, Emergency!, Mission: Impossible, Murder, She Wrote, and Desperate Housewives, as well as films such as Coma, The Promise and Star 80.

Ryan was also a corespondent for U.S. TV news programme Entertainment Tonight, and he hosted a series called Legends From Here, featuring interviews with celebrities like Rock Hudson, Shelley Winters and Kylie Minogue.

He also hosted the Screen Actors Guild Foundation's Celebrity Master Class - a special series of conversations with stars such as Diahann Carroll, Burt Reynolds and George Hamilton.

Ryan used his years of experience in the industry to conduct coaching and training classes for people seeking to become actors and TV hosts, and also penned a 2007 book titled The Art of Comedy: Getting Serious About Being Funny.
