Actor Gary Sinise Involved In Car Crash

The actor Gary Sinise has been injured in a car crash, the Press Association reports today (April 5, 2012). His spokeswoman, Stacey Wolfe has confirmed that the 57 year old has suffered injuries as a result of a car collision but has not revealed the extent of his injuries. Sinise has cancelled his forthcoming appearances with the Lt Dan Band.

The band was scheduled to appear in Martinsville, Virginia last weekend but the event had to be cancelled as Gary was unable to play. They were also due to play next weekend in Palm Desert, California. Luckily for fans of Csi: NY, filming for the most recent season has now been completed, so the show will not be adversely affected by Sinise's accident. Gary Sinise and the Lt Dan Band will shortly be releasing a documentary, filmed over an 18 month period, by director Jonathan Flora.

Gary Sinise is best known as an actor, though he tours regularly with his band. In 1995, he was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his performance alongside Tom Hanks in Forrest Grump. He played the role of Lieutenant Dan Taylor, hence the name of his band. He went on to work with Hanks again, in Apollo 13 and The Green Mile.
