LOST creator J.J. ABRAMS is returning to the small screen with a TV drama series set in San Francisco's macabre Alcatraz Prison.
Abrams has teamed up with former Lost producer Elizabeth Sarnoff for the series, which is currently shrouded in secrecy, reports Deadline.com.
The movie and TV mogul has already written a script for the pilot episode and will produce it through his Bad Robot production company.
Alcatraz housed some of America's most notorious criminals, including Al Capone, before it was closed as a prison in 1963. It reopened as a tourist attraction in 1973 and is now visited by millions of intrigued tourists every year.
