'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' Doesn't Sink Its Teeth In Too Far

Abraham Lincoln: VAMPIRE HUNTER, as you may have guessed from the title, doesn't want itself to be taken too seriously. One thing that Hollywood blockbusters always take seriously though is box office success, and you can bet that Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter will want to cash in as much as it can on its irrelevance and humour, regardless of what critics make of it or not.

Overall, there have not been any 'bad' reviews for the historical mish-mash so far, with general consensus being that the film is good, but not exactly great.

Starring Benjamin Walker, Dominic Cooper, Anthony Mackie, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and MARTIN CZOKAS, it follows a young Abe Lincoln as he seeks revenge for his mother's murder, by the villainous Czokas. It turns out that Czokas (who plays the sinister Barts), is in fact a Vampire and the American Civil War is merely a cover so that vampires can reclaim America as their own. As Lincoln ascends into politics, he also picks up a few tips on how to slay vampires along the way to make for a brighter future for America and the world.

From director Timur Bekmambetov, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter should sink its teeth relatively far into your receptive senses, but don't expect to become an expert in Civil War history after seeing the Bekmambetov, Tim Burton and Jim Lemley produced action/comedy.
