Abc Biggest Winner At Daytime Emmys

ABC took home a passel of Emmys at Saturday's 39th annual Daytime Emmy Awards. They included an award for outstanding drama series, General Hospital and one for best actor, Anthony Geary (his seventh such award). And, after years of complaining about never receiving an Emmy, Regis Philbin finally got one for Live with Regis and Kelly -- ironically after leaving the show seven months ago. NBC's Today won for best morning show, while the syndicated Jeopardy! was named best game show (just hours after its host, Alex Trebek, was admitted to a hospital after suffering a mild heart attack.) Reflecting the lack of interest in daytime television since many viewers began watching primetime shows on their DVRs during the day, Saturday's Emmy show was carried on the Turner cable network HLN, rather than on a major broadcast out.
