Actor Aaron Taylor-johnson has refused to read about himself in gossip columns ever since his age-gap relationship with his Nowhere Boy director hit the headlines in 2009.
The Brit was just a teenager when he fell for Sam Taylor-Wood while shooting the John Lennon biopic, and they caused a stir when they began dating after the film wrapped.
Aaron admits he was stunned by the "horrible" stories that emerged after they went public as a couple, and has shunned reports about their personal lives ever since.
He tells Britain's Elle magazine, "When me and Sam got together, there was a whole f**king uproar. From that moment on, I never read anything about us. There's loads of f**king horrible s**t out there on the internet. It never filtered into our lives, into our relationship. I'm not going to allow it... I strive to be the best father and husband I can be. I gain a lot more out of my kids and Sam than anything else in my work world. I take my family very seriously."
The 22 year old, who wed the 45-year-old filmmaker in June (12), admits the age difference has never bothered him, adding, "Sam might be older than me, but she's such a young, spirited soul that I sometimes feel I'm older than her. I don't wake up and go, 'F**k, I'm 22!'"
'Smalls Change (Meditations Upon Ageing)' arrives in April.
The two awards have made for a great 72nd birthday present for the country music icon.
