Aaron Sorkin's Steve Jobs Movie To Battle Kutcher And Co
In a statement announcing Sorkin's involvement, Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal said there was "no writer working in Hollywood today who is more capable of capturing such an extraordinary life", adding, "In his hands, we're confident that the film will be everything that Jobs himself was: captivating, entertaining and polarising". Sorkin is certainly a heavyweight name to have on-board for the high profile project, though the confirmation means that his movie will almost certainly be compared to Joshua Michael Stern's rival film that is already shooting, with Ashton Kutcher playing the lead. The indie flick is said to follow Jobs' progression from "wayward hippie to revered creative entrepreneur".
The former chief executive of the US technology giant Apple died in October 2011 aged 56, following a respiratory arrest related to his metastatic tumor. Sorkin recently completed work on the highly anticipated HBO series 'The Newsroom', with Jeff Daniels and EMILY MORTIMER.
