Aaron Carter Thanks Fans For Support After His Sister's Death

Pop star Aaron Carter has spoken out to thank fans for their support following the news of his sister's death.

The singer's 25-year-old sibling Leslie died suddenly on Tuesday (31Jan12) in upstate New York.

Aaron's brother, Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter, has already spoken out following the sad news, insisting he will be continuing the band's tour in dedication to Leslie.

He said in a statement, "Performing is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform."

Now his younger brother has also addressed the tragedy, revealing he too will be throwing himself back into work in off-Broadway show Fantasticks to help him overcome the pain.

Aaron says in his own statement, "Aaron Carter would like to thank all his fans, friends and especially his cast and crew at The Fantasticks for their outpouring of love and support during this tragic time.

"I am with my family spending much needed time together as we deal with this private matter. I look forward to returning to my Fantasticks' Family and performing the role of Matt for all my amazing fans. Again, I request privacy for my family and no further statements will be made at this time."

The family is awaiting a toxicology report to determine Leslie's cause of death, while an autopsy carried out on Wednesday (01Feb12) confirmed there were "no visible signs of trauma".
