A Nightmare On Elm Street - A Nightmare On Elm Street Stars Return To Iconic Home Nearly 30 Years Later
A Nightmare On Elm Street stars Robert Englund and Heather Langenkamp have returned to the iconic movie's film set almost 30 years after the cult thriller's release.
In Wes Craven's 1984 classic, Englund stars as terrifying serial killer Freddy Krueger, who stalks and tries to murder Langenkamp's Nancy Thompson at her home on Elm Street.
The lead stars recently returned to the California house where filming took place to celebrate the movie's longevity, as well as the release of the new Dvd box set, and the actor admits he's been floored by the response from fans nearly three decades later.
Englund tells U.S. news show Entertainment Tonight, "I think we knew we were onto something good. But I don't think any of us thought this would be the iconic franchise that it's become. It set the bar, and certainly has been imitated - which I guess is a form of flattery - just about more than any other horror film outside of Dracula, probably."
And Langenkamp admits she owes the movie's success to her 65-year-old former co-star, adding, "There's just not that many actors who give themself (sic) to their character in the way that Robert has, because I think a lot of people would look over 30 years and be proud of their character they created, but Robert has actually gone so far beyond that in just the way he will be present for events, so that he can satisfy the fans' desire."
