50 Cent - 50 Cent Wants To Achieve Hunger Relief Goal In Two-and-a-half Years

Rapper 50 Cent is aiming to achieve his mission of feeding one billion African children in just two-and-a-half years, insisting he was "really conservative" when he initially unveiled his five-year plan.
The In Da Club star announced his ambitious goal in July (11), claiming he wanted to use his position of influence to "impact people's lives more", and he has vowed to donate proceeds of his new Street King energy drink to the cause.
The product launched in the U.S. this week (begs12Sep11) and it has already proved to be a big hit with retailers, selling out in stores across the country. The demand for pre-orders allowed 50 Cent to send a cheque to United Nations officials to boost their efforts to alleviate hunger in impoverished Africa on Wednesday (14Sep11), hours before he celebrated the Street King release with a party in his native New York.
At the event, the rapper revealed he is already in talks to work with Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Usher and Drake on Street King, and now he admits he has a number of other secret fundraising projects planned to help him reach his one billion goal - and he believes they will help him fulfil his mission in just a couple of years.
He explains to WENN, "I have a lot (of fundraising projects)... but I can't tell you (yet). Really shortly, exciting things will be happening that I'll be telling you about.
"I'm really serious about it (hunger relief). So far I've been able to feed 2.5 million (kids), but I wanna feed a billion. When I said I'd do it in five years, I was being really conservative. I'll do it a lot faster... I said five years because that's (the norm) when I create a business plan, but I think I can do it in half that time."
And 50's efforts have won him high praise from British singer/songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae.
Speaking at the Street King launch party, she says, "I think it's fantastic... I think when people use the heat that's brought to them to shine a light on things that can help in the world that's positive."
