Rapper-turned-sports promoter 50 Cent pulled out of a club performance in Connecticut on Friday night (01Mar13) after his boxer Billy Dib lost a championship match in a bloody bout.
The In Da Club hitmaker had been booked to make an appearance at Club Sinergee following Dib's attempt at defending his Ibf world featherweight championship title against unbeaten Russian Evgeny Gradovich at the Foxwoods Resort Casino - but the Australian was defeated in 12 rounds.
Dib was hospitalised after receiving one brutal cut above his right eye and another on the side of his face, and 50 reportedly decided to ditch the club gig in order to accompany his fighter to a local medical centre.
According to AllHipHop.com, Club Sinergee boss Michael Carusone was disappointed by the axe and insisted that the hip-hop star should have still "made an effort to come" to greet fans.
50 Cent added boxing promoter to his resume last year (12) with the launch of his SMS Promotions company, to which Dib is signed. He has also acquired former featherweight Yuriorkis Gamboa and super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell under contract.
