Frank Ocean - 50 Cent: Frank Ocean's Critics Are Idiots

50 Cent has added his name to the long-list of singers, rappers and musicians who have backed Frank Ocean, in light of his recent admission that his first love was a man. Many expected a negative reaction from the hip-hop community to Ocean's revelation, though a vast array of artists has come out in support of the Odd Future affiliate.
50 Cent is the latest of those, and told Mtv Uk, "Anyone that has an issue with Frank Ocean is an idiot.I think Frank Ocean is a talented artist, I think he's created material that made me know his name, that impressed me, with things he said on a song like 'Novacane'". 50 Cent said Ocean's coming out does not concern him, adding, "It could be revolutionary or it could be a tragedy. You can call it brave or you can call it marketing, because it was intentional; it wasn't an accident". Whether the early release of Ocean's album 'Channel Orange' was connected to his admission or not, the record has performed strongly in the charts and is likely to snag the No.2 spot on the Billboard 200 this week. 50 Cent added, "There are artists before who have made these choices just not having made the choice to expose it to the general public before an actual release of music".
As for his own stance on same-sex relationships, the rapper touched upon the changing times, alluding that sexual preference isn't such a taboo subject in his genre of music anymore, saying, "Obama is for same-sex marriage. If the president is saying that, then who am I to go the other way?".
